The president of Haiti is facing calls to resign as protesters line the streets in the nation’s capital. Demonstrators rallied Sunday, demanding President Jovenel Moise step down amid Haiti’s economic crisis.
A t least 17 people have died and 200 others have been injured as a result of the protests, which were prompted by fuel shortages. The people have also accused the government of corruption and failing to curb skyrocketing inflation.
Local business owners say they haven’t been able to open their shops due to the violent protests.
