Maduro Orders Military Drills Amid Tension With Colombia
Venezuela’s president has ordered military exercises to be conducted along the country’s Colombian border. During a speech in Caracas Tuesday, Nicolas Maduro claimed he made this decision because he believes Colombia is planning to launch an attack.
Colombian officials, however, have denied all accusations of escalating tensions with the regime. Maduro said despite ongoing peace talks between the two countries, Colombia insists on ramping up pressure with its neighbor.
